Siapa 200 Kolektor Top Dunia? Fajar Sutardi dikutip IndonesianArtNews
MAJALAH seni rupa Amerika Serikat, Artnews, mengeluarkan daftar 200 kolektor papan atas dan paling aktif dalam membelanjakan uangnya untuk mengoleksi karya seni rupa. Daftar yang termuat dalam Artnews edisi bulan Juli 2010 itu juga menyebutkan Top Ten atau 10 Besar kolektor dunia di antara 200 nama tersebut.
Dalam Top Ten itu terdapat nama-nama popular seperti Roman Abramovich, pengusaha minyak asal Rusia yang juga pemilik kesebelasan juara Liga Primer Inggris 2009-2010, F.C. Chelsea. Juga ada nama trilyuner Qatar, Sheikh Saud bin Mohammad bin Ali al-Thani, yang kini begitu ambisius ingin membesarkan kesebelasan Manchester City, Inggris. Nama lain dalam daftar itu adalah pasangan Alexandra & Steven A. Cohen, yang menurut majalah Forbes, kekayaannya pada tahun 2009 mencapai $ 5,5 milyar dan menjadi orang terkaya dunia urutan ke-87. Lalu pengusaha tajir Perancis, Francois Pinault yang memiliki asset hingga $ 16,9 milyar dan merupakan orang terkaya sejagad urutan ke-39. Juga ada nama-nama Helena & Bernard Arnauld, Debra & Leon Black, Edythe L. & Eli Broad, dan Emily & Mitchell Rales. Tentu, ada pula nama pengusaha asal Hongkong yang pada 7 November 2007 lalu pernah membeli lukisan Paul Gauguin, Te Poipoi, seharga $ 39,2 juta dibalai lelang Sotheby.
Daftar 200 nama kolektor top dunia ini memang tak banyak berubah dari daftar serupa yang pernah dirilis oleh majalah Artnews sekitar 3-4 tahun lalu. Dominasi para kolektor Amerika Serikat dan Eropa masih sangat kuat dalam daftar itu ketimbang para kolektor dari kawasan lain. Setidaknya ada sekitar 105 kolektor Amerika Serikat. Lalu dari kawasan benua Eropa sekitar 73 nama, Asia 7 nama, dan sisanya dari kawasan Kanada dan Amerika Tengah serta Amerika Latin. Tak ada nama dari kawasan Afrika maupun Australia.
Hal yang juga tak kalah menarik untuk disimak dari daftar tersebut adalah deretan nama-nama penting yang barangkali bisa dijadikan semacam pembelajaran bagi para banyak kalangan di Indonesia yang berpotensi untuk menjadi kolektor karya seni. Di situ ada nama seniman level top dunia, Damien Hirst, yang ternyata telah menghabiskan begitu banyak uangnya untuk berbelanja karya seni (seniman lain). Ternyata dia tidak egosentris dengan hanya memajang karyanya sendiri. Atau juga pemimpin enclave state Liechtenstein, Princess Marie and Prince Hans-Adam II von und zu Liechtenstein, yang banyak berburu karya-karya old masters. Prince Hans-Adam II adalah juga pemilik grup perbankan LGT dengan asset sekitar $ 2 milyar yang menjadikannya menjadi salah satu pemimpin negara berkekayaan terbesar di dunia. (Sebagai catatan kecil, Liechtenstein adalah negara mungil yang ‘dikepung’ Swiss dan Austria dengan luas sekitar 160 km² dan berpopulasi penduduk 35.000. Bandingkan dengan propinsi DKI Jakarta yang luasnya 740,29 km² dengan jumlah penduduk 8.860.381 jiwa).
Nama-nama lain yang sangat populer di dunia yang ada dalam daftar 200 kolektor dunia antara lain pengusaha Ukraina, Victor Pinchuk, yang pada perkembangannya bahkan menyelenggarakan sebuah award seni dengan memakai nama keluarganya, Pinchuk. Juga ada nama Benedikt Taschen yang sangat terkenal sebagai pengusaha penerbitan berlabel Taschen. Atau pengusaha advertising, Charles Saatchi, yang begitu mendunia galeri dan private museum-nya. Dan masih banyak lagi nama-nama populer dalam dunia bisnis.
Namun dari deretan nama-nama tersebut, nyaris tak ada nama kolektor yang berbasis di China atau berasal dari China. Padahal pada perkembangan 10 tahun terakhir ini gerak kolektor China cukup terasa agresivitasnya dalam berbagai kesempatan, seperti dalam berbagai kesempatan pelelangan berlevel dunia. Entahlah. Mungkin memang seperti inilah faktanya. Atau, barangkali karena yang membuat dan merilis daftar ini adalah majalah yang berbasis di Amerika Serikat, maka—sangat dimungkinkan—ada semacam politisasi dalam penyusunan nama-nama tersebut untuk tetap mengunggulkan yang Amerika Serikat dan mengabaikan the other-nya. Apalagi menyebut nama-nama kolektor dari Indonesia. Ah, kalau yang ini, mungkin memang belum levelnya. Siapa tahu?

Hal yang juga tak kalah menarik untuk disimak dari daftar tersebut adalah deretan nama-nama penting yang barangkali bisa dijadikan semacam pembelajaran bagi para banyak kalangan di Indonesia yang berpotensi untuk menjadi kolektor karya seni. Di situ ada nama seniman level top dunia, Damien Hirst, yang ternyata telah menghabiskan begitu banyak uangnya untuk berbelanja karya seni (seniman lain). Ternyata dia tidak egosentris dengan hanya memajang karyanya sendiri. Atau juga pemimpin enclave state Liechtenstein, Princess Marie and Prince Hans-Adam II von und zu Liechtenstein, yang banyak berburu karya-karya old masters. Prince Hans-Adam II adalah juga pemilik grup perbankan LGT dengan asset sekitar $ 2 milyar yang menjadikannya menjadi salah satu pemimpin negara berkekayaan terbesar di dunia. (Sebagai catatan kecil, Liechtenstein adalah negara mungil yang ‘dikepung’ Swiss dan Austria dengan luas sekitar 160 km² dan berpopulasi penduduk 35.000. Bandingkan dengan propinsi DKI Jakarta yang luasnya 740,29 km² dengan jumlah penduduk 8.860.381 jiwa).
Nama-nama lain yang sangat populer di dunia yang ada dalam daftar 200 kolektor dunia antara lain pengusaha Ukraina, Victor Pinchuk, yang pada perkembangannya bahkan menyelenggarakan sebuah award seni dengan memakai nama keluarganya, Pinchuk. Juga ada nama Benedikt Taschen yang sangat terkenal sebagai pengusaha penerbitan berlabel Taschen. Atau pengusaha advertising, Charles Saatchi, yang begitu mendunia galeri dan private museum-nya. Dan masih banyak lagi nama-nama populer dalam dunia bisnis.
Namun dari deretan nama-nama tersebut, nyaris tak ada nama kolektor yang berbasis di China atau berasal dari China. Padahal pada perkembangan 10 tahun terakhir ini gerak kolektor China cukup terasa agresivitasnya dalam berbagai kesempatan, seperti dalam berbagai kesempatan pelelangan berlevel dunia. Entahlah. Mungkin memang seperti inilah faktanya. Atau, barangkali karena yang membuat dan merilis daftar ini adalah majalah yang berbasis di Amerika Serikat, maka—sangat dimungkinkan—ada semacam politisasi dalam penyusunan nama-nama tersebut untuk tetap mengunggulkan yang Amerika Serikat dan mengabaikan the other-nya. Apalagi menyebut nama-nama kolektor dari Indonesia. Ah, kalau yang ini, mungkin memang belum levelnya. Siapa tahu?
